Mother Nature has a way of balancing things out. After the last few years, the basin is probably just tired

To be fair, he isn't wrong and it is the reality of the run.

For those that don't know who he is, Derek is a very trusted Senior Meteorologist who works for StormGeo, who a lot of your companies use for weather forecasts. He also has millions of dollars in technology behind him, along with hundreds of years of experience at that company backing him up.
If you want to follow someone, follow him. He's also very cautious about what he posts.

Well, at this point in 2020 we were tracking the L storm.....which was Laura. This season we're like a drunk slutty girl looking for the D.
Last year we were looking for Ida to form.

he aint wrong.
The question of rest of the month is "will enough of these waves survive the open Atlantic that they can develop in the Western Atlantic"
The rest of this month looks like wave sacrifices to the dry air gods, at least in the open Atlantic.

Storm Geo is an absolute joke. Forecast are garbage, they had ida so wrong they should refund the money companies are paying them.

That may be a factual comment, but even semantically it means that August 17th “LATE August” and not “MID August.” To me most people use an early/mid/late chronology and not just an early/late chronology. If they wanted to divide in 2 they would use 1st half/2nd half.
