The 12z GFS doing GFS things with a large almost CAG like circulation with our current wave over CA and spurious vorticity off of SA to seed the future Gulf system.

Or... the large circulation of the current wave does develop as depicted and the flow out of the Caribbean increases surface convergence resulting in convection that produces the depicted vorticity?

There is some anticyclonic flow in the upper levels that would tend to favor continued convective burst and a slowly organizing system.

You don't think that first wave heads West and makes landfall too early for that to be the case. When you loop vorticity that second wave wrapping up doesn't look to have much connection to the other.

Are you wxman57? He posted something eerily similar as you on storm2k. He about the only level headed poster on that site and an actual meteorologist.

quote:

Here's what I see the GFS doing. It takes the wave over the eastern Caribbean into Honduras by 12Z Monday then westward to near southern Belize by 12Z Wednesday. At that time, it develops another feature near Jamaica and takes that system northwestward and across the northern Yucatan on Saturday then west into Mexico on Sunday. It is the only model that develops a second low near Jamaica. As such, its solution is highly suspect.

I don't know, it all just turns into one big slop fest.

For those feeling a little sad because you haven't had a Hurricane Scare yet this season, keep in mind that you can experience the excitement of an actual Hurricane Scare by conducting your own Hurricane Drill at home.

Here's how it's done:

1) cut all electric power to your home

2) fire up your generator

3) eat canned foods

4) after ten hours of doing this, with little to no sleep, go outside and do yardwork during the hottest hours of the day

Don’t we always get a tropical event around Labor Day? Seems like one always comes along to screw up opening day of dove season.

Looks like the 18z GFS run may come in a little hot. Crazy how stubborn its been on this development

Read the other posts, that's not the same system technically. It's a piece of the energy from it though. It's a really strange setup and I'm not sure we'll know shite for another 5 days.
