The NHC is predicting 75mph at landfall. You can see the intensity at the very end of the discussion of each advisory on their website.

How bad is my drive going to suck from north LA to GA on Sunday morning?

Selfishly, I am saying this area will actually benefit from a tropial system bringing needed rain.

I decide to sleep and the Euro pulls that shite!

Bad Euro!

It was a weird run, similar to the GFS with the dancing vortices early in the run. Lots of land interaction too but is strengthening as it approaches La. Hopefully lopsidedness spares SELa the worst of it per that run.

FWIW, we probably shift a little again before it's all said and done.

Huge shift west. NHC doesn't normally make such big changes to their forecast in one swoop but they did here. I'm surprised. Looks like the target is now MS/AL coasts. The west shifts could continue. Get ready LA. The good news is it could just be a sheared, lop sided mess by the time it gets there.

If/when the NHC makes big shifts, its usually when a storm is as disorganized as this one. Getting your bearings straight on what is nothing more than a few thunderstorms at this time is very difficult.

Hopefully the storm never really materializes.

What do they think the rain bands will be like with this storm? Far reaching?

Nate isn't going to have a lot of time to expand outward and there should be some shearing to have Nate kind of lopsided to the east side.

On current NHC track, BR gets a little rain and some TS force gusts maybe.

The intensity picture isn't clear though. Could just be an open wave. Could be a Cat 1/2 hurricane. Kind of a bitch to be in the 3-4 day window and have no idea.

Yeah, we'll have a better idea once Nate gets out in the open waters before the Yucatan. If he gets together quickly, we're looking stronger as he should be somewhat organized once into the gulf.

If he stays unorganized, there won't be much time for Nate to get very strong and our half of the gulf is west of the loop current with the really warm water.

My thinking right now is an Issac like system, but theres still a ton of

It's not really a forecast though, it's current conditions.

This is the GFS shear forecast. It will be favorable throughout the trek through the GOM.

Whelp time to make sure the family back home has all their duckies in a row.

Every Hurricane we've tracked to the US has gone through a RIE.

This is the one that DOESN'T for the love of God.
