Lol because no one gave a frick and NOPD couldn’t enforce it.

but theBitch got both uber and lyft to suspend service. Gonna be a lot of drunks on the road thanks to him.
Seems prime for a lawsuit. Announce a curfew and not enforce it but take away the services that take drunk people home safe?
Probably his sick way of trying to get the city more money via DUIs.

Yeah it looked like the FQ was pretty dead. I assume most sent employees home too.

Of course, I'd of rather just been more ignorant than learn this way.
This was a challenging season and has me seriously considering a job at a different office or agency.

Can't blame you on that.
A lot of people need a good forecast, and there wasn't a big storm this year that was easy. Irma, depending on a diving shortwave and a few dozen miles on path for millions might have been the simplest forecast.
One day down the road I'd like to get into the weather game as a pro, but man I can't imagine the stress of an active hurricane season. Would probably just choose to stick to tornados and severe weather...

What in particular made it so challenging?
There was Harvey that had almost nothing to steer it, and a complex lower and upper level set up for just who got the big punch of rain.
Irma blew up to a Cat 5 farther east than any storm before it, then had a complex scenario of moving parts to move it, and a few dozen miles being the difference between the impact of millions of people being hammered.
Maria has another far east explosive intensification process and days of wondering if we have an east coast strike or not.
Then Nate blows up with a scenario to have him flying at 30 mph in forward motion and miles being the difference eof huge impacts in New Orleans or none. Then travels over the warmest waters in the Atlantic with an upper low and some lower level low pressure interaction to his west.
There wasn't a hurricane this year that wasn't dangerous and bloody complicated to figure out with miles making the difference for millions of people.

Guess I never really thought about the stress of analyzing these storms as a professional - when you write it all out like that it makes a lot of sense

This year gave me a real appreciation for their work. Everything has been complicated as hell. Everything has been prone to rapidly intensify. The steering has been a function of multiple moving parts and at least twice we've depended on energy from the Pacific ocean days out to determine final track.
It really makes you appreciate the brilliance of the hurricane center, who nailed numerous difficult forecasts. The other pros who do computer modeling aND local NWS offices who have to make local predictions for impacts when dozens of miles make big differences.
Those guys deserve a ton of praise. Utterly impressed over here.
