Honestly we need a higher level of classification. Some of these storm are exponentially more powerful than than what you think of "Cat 5".

Getting close to Camille. But she was smaller. A 22 ft surge. Crazy.

Are there people that think CAT 5's aren't bad or something?

Does anyone think its strange that these hurricanes, starting from Beryl in July that hit Houston is starting by the Bay of Campache or in the Southern gulf and picking up crazy steam before slamming into the US.
I thought the worst hurricanes start off the coast of Africa, coming via the Caribbean islands?
Its very odd a lot of these this year are coming from the same area. Just an observation.

And downplayed the residents further inland evacuating because it would be uncomfortable without power like thats the only reason they are leaving. frick off

That's not what I said.
Ok...

Those a little further inland are evacuating mostly because it's going to be uncomfortable after it passes without electricity.
Is exactly what you said.

If you're not in a storm surge vulnerable area the odds of you being killed by wind and rain are pretty close to zero.
Again tell that to the people in the Carolinas.

Where are you seeing that? Looks like it is still in the storm.

Well it is going to be uncomfortable. There's going to be no AC, no internet, spotty cell coverage. That's called uncomfortable but not really life threatening.

They were killed by flash floods in a mountainous area. Not a comparable situation other than the fact there was water falling g out of the sky at high rate.

It was a joke.
But the completely missed the eye on the first pass. So you're right, it wasn't the center.

It says "In Storm" for me, and Radar Omega still has it in the storm.
