Looks like pretty much damage similar to a cat 1 or 2 in the 90s etc. Tornadoes are really only wind damage I have seen so far. Again a 120 mph Cat 3 hurricane eye striking land should have recorded gust in the 140 mph range yet they barely got a 100 mph gust.
This simply was a Cat 1/2 as reflected by its maximum wind gust and tidal surge. WTF is going on? This doesn't make sense at all.

What was final surge 6-8 feet? Some of you weather experts explain this to me, again these last two storms reported wind velocity versus what was recorded has significantly off the saffer Simpson scale of what we should have seen in the impact area.
Helene ended up being a terrible hurricane for the Carolinas etc but its wind damage was Cat 1 at best just like this storm
