Even with the changes, they have their own utility company in Reedy Creek Energy Services (not to be confused with Reedy Creek Improvement District). It’s all underground, they have their own response teams, can divert power in an insane amount of different ways as they have multiple substations on property. Disney will never be without power.

Why are they only detected wind gusts of 107 mph, thats a cat 2 gust maximum. Have the changed the way they measure wind gusts or hurricanes now. A hurricane with 120 mph sustained winds should have wind gusts in the 135-140 mph range.
No, they haven’t changed the way they measure hurricanes.

Can anyone tell me where to find current wind speeds of a smaller location (I’m in Sebring)? Not sure how accurate my weather app is (it’s showing 80+ mph).

That site is atrocious on mobile though.
Sebring airport max gust has been 73 mph and sustained at 48 mph.

Using the Doppler Radar as a gauge. There are rain drops it tracks in there somewhere going that fast. Not the same as an anemometer.

I just lost power in Cocoa Beach.
It’s been off for 5 minutes now.

Pro Tip: Download the app called Wx (it is something different on iPhone I think). It puts all the NOAA/NWS/SPC/Etc. shite that is strewn from here to the backside of internet hell in one handy dandy app that doesn't require you to go to the websites.
I use it for 90% of everything weather that I look at regularly, outside of radar of course. Though it does have the NOAA radar with four panes, and it is free if you ever have use for it.

Have a lot of transplants and interns from across the country at my work. I tried to explain to them the proper rules behind looting after a major hurricane but they just couldn’t grasp the concept. Those interns won’t be getting positions

Probably. I'm not sure, though.
