If it really has 160MPH winds and 20 inches as the article says, hawaii will be like PR times 10.

The folks at FIU won't be happy that he's affiliated with UM.

Generally they weaken quite a bit and/or turn before reaching Hawaii. A direct hit is pretty rare.

Can’t they just sacrifice a virgin? Or does that only work with volcanos.

I was watching an old episode of Bizarre Foods and he was in Hawaii and the people who lived there were bragging about not having hurricanes there. Wow, this is crazy actually to me

Hawaii has some big mountains. I doubt it gets all of that 160 mph winds.

How come there is not a single mention of this hurricane on the National Hurricane Center website?? Are they too busy celebrating the whole Cohen Meuller or what the frick ever it is that the loony Dems are celebrating?

Because the NHC doesn’t monitor the Central Pacific. That would be the Central Pacific Hurricane Center.

I wasn’t going to call you a dumbass until you added this part.

But your map is the eastern pacific for fricks sake.

You have to switch over to the Central Pacific maps.

Higher altitude typically gets higher winds, so parts could if it got the eyewall and it wasn't being weakened by the shear to come and the obvious mountain interaction on the storm.

Lane looks to be intensifying again this morning but should catch some shear as it makes the approach to Hawaii. Models aren't solid on a direct hit with many keeping Lane off the islands. Still poses a big rainfall threat.

I suppose this rain would be on the leeward side as well, which could pose a mudslide and flash flood risk.

I would think that a nice rain storm would help with the volcano stuff going on there

Yeah, winds will be pulling out of the south, SE, SW making much of the lee side of the islands the windwards for the storm.

Didn't Hawaii already have one hurricane this year?
