Radar wind estimates with the band coming through San Juan suggest there might be close to 60mph.
That's a bad appetizer.

Well, so far, its doing exactly the opposite of what they were predicting several days ago. I'm not claiming to be a meteorologist, but this is what a message board is for.
Chill out.

I saw the TWC camera guy shaking the camera several years ago during TS Issac in Orange Beach during a live interview. Pretty funny when all we had was 30mph winds.
I was watching some hurricane coverage (don't remember which storm, may have been Isaac) a few years ago when Gerado Rivera was in Florida, standing outside a hotel in front of some bushes. I could see someones hands every once in a while shaking the branches to make it look like he was in high winds. I called to my family and backed up the DVR so they could see. We all had a good laugh at that one.

No...Irma has a crush on Muschamp, thought he was still in Florida, discovered he isn't, cut the wheel hard right and is apparently hauling arse here.
For real though, I'm getting the rest of my preparations taken care of today. Not waiting till the last minute.

Wow this thing is gonna shut down tourism to these islands for years it looks like.
That's the truth. The season down there in just a few months. This year will be a complete wash for them.

I think the more west than northwest movement should be concerning for FL.

You serious? Any other island they can get to is also in harms way.

Yep. It's like some people haven't been reading the forecast and all of the great info posted here.
Nothing has. Hanged and it's doing what they said it would

That front has moved through cenla
Hope it speeds up and steers this thing (EAD draconian sanctions) as far away from land and life as possible

can't believe St. Maarten took a direct hit from a Cat 5...I can only imagine the damage as images continue to filter out
bet there is not much for internet service right now, seen quite a few twitter users who started tweeting and then disappeared
