I already made that point a few pages back, but yeah.

Yea I just saw it

FWIW, Liz is not the only one making that claim. A few weeks ago there was a thread where a ton of posters in Baton Rouge were trying to lay claim to Katrina and Rita. I pointed them out and also pointed out another point made in this thread that everyone was trying to claim victim status. It's just weird and pathetic.

Thread

Some people laying claim

Man, I'd like to think it's just people completely misremembering that time. But yeah, Rita wasn't shite for BR or New Orleans.

After dealing with Katrina I was pretty stressed with Rita despite where it went.

It’s the ptsd from the havoc us NOLA-area refugees inflicted, and still inflict to this day

It's a verbiage thing

I think the weather service upgraded Zeta from a 2 to a 3 at some later date. Didn't make any difference to me, the damage was done and it wasn't insignificant in Pass Christian. Many trees down on the property and much roof damage.

Isaac was a Catergory whatever, but the water started coming inside the house about 3 in the morning on Wed and didn't get out until around noon on Saturday. It peaked at a hair below 5'. Not a major hurricane, but it made a major mess of my life in Madisonville.

I've got friends and relatives in Cape Coral and Ft Myers. It's fricked up down there. Some places are much worse than others, but it sucks for everyone.

Every storm becomes a dick measuring contest on the OT.

We evacuated to Baton Rouge to get out of Katrina’s way. Lol

In one month I had refugees living in my apartment and then had Rita coming at us. Rita was worse for BR than Katrina, in terms of a storm. The Mandela effect on some of you is mighty strong.

Umm, GRT, have you not read the premise of what this thread has devolved to? If you were not in the eye, you can't claim the hurricane, so any New Orleans folk need to STFU aboot Katrina. The eye was clearly east, so get over it.

If it wasn’t for the levees breaking New Orleans would just have had some wind damage

I think you need to look up the definition of “refugee”. No one was fleeing their country to avoid prosecution/persecution living at your apartment

So technically you didn't "experience" either storm. Got it.

That is like me claiming Harvey or Ida was devastating for Lake Charles and I had experienced them both.

If talking about purely typical hurricane damage MS had it worse than LA from Katrina.

But it did lol. Wind damage was pretty severe in the area too. Must of been a ton of tornados.

But it was preventable. Incompetence caused the problems as far as the levees.

No doubt. There was a shite ton of wind damage.

The Hyatt and Superdome are perfect examples

Yeah, just nice kite weather, actually. It makes it hard to understand all of the whining, TV specials, and altered body counts.
