So what are the odds this thing strengthens again if the eye wall gets its shite together

Florence has a huge windfield to her NE.
Also has a clear double wind maximum indicating she's still trying to replace the inner eyewall.

Based on what Levi said not a lot. Probably mid-cat 4

If it gets its shite together again would be impressive enough. Conditions for any substantial strengthening aren't ideal between here and landfall.
She's still going to be a bitch though.

It's nothing scientific, it just looks like Superstorm Sandy.
Sandy^

This thing is tiny compared to sandy and Katrina

I can feel The Weather Channels disappointment as this storm slowly gets more and more ugly and disorganised.

The Weather Channel
Has become a complete joke. They can hype the hell out of anything and they get worse every year. They had a reporter in Charlotte yesterday talking about whether or not the skyscrapers could withstand the winds. Last year they had a reporter in Bham for Tropical Storm Nate and they talked about the strong winds we were supposedly sustaining. Really playing it up. I was literally less than a mile from them and was sitting on my back porch.

Isaac making dat turn
the question remains if it'll actually survive past 3 days b/c of all that headwind it's running into
if it makes it to the back half of the Caribbean still a storm... where Levi said shear may diminish... then I'll start to get a bit concerned
Posted on 9/12/18 at 7:37 pm to slackster
It seems this the thread turned to a lot of wish casting

Isaac has aids at the moment. Literally no convection. Just an open swirl.
Posted on 9/12/18 at 7:38 pm to slackster
She looks awful there. Its hard to even identify how wide the eye is, and theres a large gap in the southern portion of the storm, not just the eyewall.
This is the worst she has looked since redeveloping into a hurricane.

Hard to believe Isaac is a TS with 60 mph winds at this point. Looks like a disorganized wave
