Yea not sure where all the La talk is coming from
The system in the GOM will likely bring rain from Lake Charles to Brownsville, but that's the only real threat for now.

We lived on Wilmington during Matthew and we left. We were expecting it to be bad when we got back but even with the storm hitting at high tide we stayed dry even in the garage. But I don't remember the rain count from Matthew. Storm surge was the big concern and talk in Savannah. All that said, the neighbors stayed and their words were "never again."
We lived right down from you and stayed and it honestly was not that bad. I grew up in south La though.

Wave heights to 83 ft were measured early this morning under the NE quadrant of Hurricane Florence. These enormous waves are produced by being trapped along with very strong winds moving in the same direction the storm's motion. #HurricaneFlorence LINK

We went from 60% chance of development at 8:00am to a hurricane hitting LA before 9:30.
OT meteorologists are OOC
Hell I am sorta hoping it’s a rain Saturday in Houston so I have an excuse to do jack shite and I am not even wishcasting that hard.
It will be tropical storm at worst that rig of sheer in the gulf didn’t clear out early like some models had

Some models have Isaac re-forming as a Hurricane later in its westward track. After Florence hits land and weakens a bit, her outflow will no longer impede Isaac, and Isaac can strengthen. Isaac is a slight threat to turn North into Louisiana as a Hurricane.
TS Joyce is predicted to form soon. This storm could definitely hit Louisiana and has a slight chance of being a Hurricane if it does hit.
The chances of either of these things happening is less than 20% so stop mucking up this thread with crazy wishcasting scenarios.

Can we leave the prediction stuff to the guys who know what they are doing?
OK sure. I thought I was just talking about some models. I didn't mean to forecast anything.
