600 feet up wouldn’t take long to get to the surface would it?

Some good news, NHC dropped the formation chance from 70% to 60% since last night. Storms around the trough have died down since yesterday.

Slack, what are your thoughts on the HHI/Bluffton area? Looks like they are setting us back up for evacuation

Last day of good weather. Last day to make preparations for the coast.

I expect a bit more traffic coming out of Charleston after that track shift overnight.

Yep. shite starts to get real once the rains start and the track has you in it’s bullseye. Sadly by then if you haven’t left yet, it’s too late

If I lived on the SC coast, I'd be preparing to head out, but you've got some time to make that call. You're looking at storm surge potential and the likelihood of 100mph gusts.

Looks like the dot cams there are slowdowns around Beaufort but I don't know there area enough to know if its work traffic or evac.

Everywhere else seems good....so far

Meanwhile, we've now got a 3rd potential development are right on the heels of Florence...

NHC giving it a 20% chance over 5 days.

Holy shite. I surely hope people aren’t stupid enough to try and ride this storm out.

If I lived inside of the pinkish lines, in NC or SC, I'd leave.

Yes they do and then when the water recedes they fall down and all the doors could potentially open. So I suppose technically the water does not get in initially but it is by no means safe to put anything in there and expect it to be ok.

You migh could strap it to the wall to prevent this.

I'm guessing the high that's going go push Florence west may push this east?

Too early to tell probably

True, but when it affected the Houston area it had dissipated. It doesn’t matter what category it is when it comes to flooding rains.

Slack, you think I should evacuate from Statesboro? It’s 50ish Miles NW of Savannah

I wouldn't want to be in the mountains this weekend if this track stays true.

Correct, but the somewhat good thing with Florence is that the NE quadrant with most of the rains will be moving across waters that have been cooled by Florence sitting on top of them. As she drifts southwest, the potential rainfall totals go down. The rainfall map makes that pretty clear too.

Yea when it hit Rockport, but then it was TS/Cat 1 when it did most of its damage in Houston/Beaumont

Prep. Like you're going to, but we're still 2.5 days from this thing getting to NC and 4 days from Savannah. You're on the extreme ends of the track, so I'd be preparing to leave or stay but I wouldn't pull the trigger until tomorrow at the earliest.
