Hunting Hitler Question

The history channel show (I know there is a board for shows but this is somewhat of a broader question) called Hunting Hitler is fascinating.
That said, for you history majors and buffs, does this show fact-check out? Are the documents they used real, declassified docs? The show has some legit guys like Baer and Kennedy.

It does in some ways but they make grand assumptions based of a gain of one fact. Hitler died in Germany is accepted native because the preponderance of evidence supports that conclusion. Notice how they always pose the conclusion in this show and the oak island as a question or this could have happened. That is poor history.

I've been watching that show too. The show last night, about the experimental bomb test was disturbing to think about.

I find it that Baer is doing this. There'll inevitably some terrorist attack and they'll have him on CNN as a former CIA expert(hell, I think I saw him this week after the Germany thing) and I just can't take him seriously anymore. Dude, 15 minutes ago you were running around an Argentine jungle looking for a dude who undoubtedly killed himself in Berlin 70 years ago. Sandwiched in between the Ancient Alien dudes and some hillbilly hunting for Bigfoot.

The only time I've read about people questioning this is become the official story comes from the Russians and some people don't believe it just because its from them. As I understand it, the Russians raided Hitler's bunker and found the bodies then buried him in an unmarked grave out in the woods nearby. The Americans were not involved. I can see the possibility that the Russians captured him alive and kept him locked up in some secret prison for the rest of his life, or maybe the Russians killed him in a last stand shoot out. In any case, he was not walking around as a free man. I think its very unlikely he got out of there alive.

Absolutely incorrect. Hitler's body was taken out into the Reichchancellery garden and burned along with Eva Braun's under explicit direction from Hitler prior to his suicide. The same was done for Goebbels, but much less effort was expended in the attempt to destroy his body and it was done in haste, which is why his charred remains were able to be recovered.
Hitler shot himself in the bunker and was burned in the garden of the Reichchancellery and then buried. There is plenty of evidence that all but confirms this unless you believe that those present in the bunker all lied about this until their deaths.

Thru forensic evidence it has been proven Hitler died in the bunker.
This show is intellectual dishonest.
They do have portions of it. His dental records match the teeth and jaw portions the Russians have, The US captured his dentist and interrogated him. His testimony matches the Russian forensic materials.

The reason the show seems to stumble across possibilities that hitler fled is because many Germans fled the country via these same routes and destinations.
I'm sure there were plans to get hitler out of the country, but he was sick and his world was collapsing around him. Many Germans fled, but hitler wasn't one of them.

It feels like it's fake, but I've not seen any mainstream reporting of such. The documents they show are certainly interesting and could make you believe their theories.

Hitler was a highly decorated soldier who loved Germany. I have no doubt he died in Germany with his people in the end. Obviously by suicide.

Hitler's Last Will and Political Testament. In reading this, it is politically impossible for Hitler to have done anything BUT kill himself. He wrote it the day before his suicide. The Russians were essentially hundreds of yards from the bunker by this time and artillery was falling in and around the Chancellery. He didn't escape, he shot himself. The History Channel is a station of clownish buffoonery now that is a money making enterprise, not a true historical or professional endeavor.

Hitler had complex and extremely unique dental work. His mouth was a fricking disaster. His jaw, in Russian possession, matches his dental records/the memory of his dentist. Plus the story is dittoed by numerous people who were in the bunker, who never recanted. The official story matches common sense, what we know of Hitler's psychology, testimony of witnesses, and physical evidence.
That show is a worse wild goose chase than Oak Island. That's really saying something.
