Are they ever gonna get back up and running?

Probably not. Due to bullshite infighting within the family, they couldn't get it together. They may open again eventually in some form, but the cost of a new place and all that good stuff means their prices will have to be much higher so I'm not sure they would make it.

Hostess was only one year, Hubig's is going on five years, I'm sure whatever deal the City made for them regarding land in the ninth ward/bywater is useless now.

Half the family wants to reopen, and half wants the money.

man...I saw a Haydel's display recently and picked up one of the apple pies because I used to get a Hubig once or twice a week.

Not even in the same damn ballpark. Couldn't even finish that trash.

Not sure how y'all eat those things. I've tried Hubigs a few times and never thought they were really good.

Used to buy 10 or 12 and bring home a half dozen. I had friends in Dallas I'd share them with. Wish I'd thought to freeze one.

For the first couple of homes games during an LSU football season, I futilely drove around looking for them at convenience stores that used to stock them.
