First thing they told us in rehab was that those girls had been hooked on drugs, so it probably wouldn't be a good idea to be messing around with them

You don't. You should have all of the friends you need at this point. You can find some shared interests people to hang out with.

No matter the situation, you have to have the personality where you're comfortable striking up a conversation with strangers. Not everyone can do that.

I moved to Dallas 3 years ago and was in a similar situation. I made my friends through a kickball league. It's really social and a lot of people were in the same position as you.
What part of town are you in?
