With the lack of funding and the lowering of standards for police departments, I guess expecting them to employ cops who have situation-awareness may be a bit unreasonable.

Be thankful you have a daughter.....And not a dog.

Well, it was dark and he doesn't know you , your family, or your family's medical history. Is he not allowed to protect himself and err on the side of caution?

i think you left out the part where the dad was speeding..

To be fair, he never said she took a ride.

Has this dude explained his speeding yet?

So this cop when put in a situation where he is out numbered, in the wide open, and has a suspect in a car reaching to the rear, is trained to immediately run to the vehicle?
Not a cop but it seems like he put himself much more in harms way.

That's good. You certainly wouldn't get any.

I can understand that. He could have used better judgment IF he could see and trust what was going on.

So the child having a seizure is justified? Because the OP was going too fast?

He jumped back and drew his weapon and called for backup and then? Did he assess situation and attempt to help while backup/ambulance came or continue to hold you at gunpoint?

Dark road, they see someone reach back after pulling over a vehicle. Seems like his situational awareness was just fine.
You people sure do like to use hindsight.

A bit off topic, but has anyone else noticed how stupidly bright the lights are now?
And now that are mounting them very low (for safety reasons, I'm sure), they shine literally right into your eyes.

Can the cop control her condition? Is this really the angle you're taking?

LEDs. You can see them from a lot farther away too.

Yeah that's real fricking shitty. You could atleast go up and have a sit down with one of the supervisors and explain the situation.
Tell them you just wish it had been handled differently, but you understand they need to protect themselves as well.
You may even get a free plastic badge, win win!
