No doubt those dudes work their tails off.

So we rarely see white NFL RBs and CBs because black people work out harder?

Some black people work out harder. Some white people do.

That’s from 2014, but it’s a pretty graphic. In the grand scheme of things, the number of humans who play in the NFL is an extremely small sample size. They are incredibly gifted genetically, but also spent more time in their youth dedicated to a craft than most people do in their lifetimes. The US men’s national soccer team has, historically, been filled with white dudes. Is it because white people are inherently better at soccer? I seriously doubt it. But more white kids were dedicated to the craft of soccer than black kids. Them’s the breaks. It’s not like we take every person in the country, make them run cone drills, and plug them into a sport. Self selection is a huge component of the process.

I would say, Europeans had outwitted equines and leaned to ride them thousands of years ago. Others were still, and still are, chasing them for food. Evolving to race against equines to eat surely makes them much faster.

It was the steppe peoples who first domesticated the horse. And in doing so spread that knowledge through conquest.

There’s obviously zero data on the subject, but if you polled every 13 year old kid in the country and asked them what they wanted to be when they grew up, what percentage would you say would answer NFL running back? Of those, what percentage would be white and what percentage would be black?

The NFL has 32 teams. Practically none of them have more than three RB on their roster. That’s less than 100 people in the entire country. When you’re talking those kind of numbers out of hundreds of millions of people, give a frick over long periods of time becomes vastly more important than raw genetic potential.

Ok. Are we using the textbook definition of racism?: The belief that one race is superior to another

Or a more nebulous, progressive definition? If so, plz define.

Disagree. Honestly I feel like you’re disproving your own point

Either of those is fine.

That does not negate my point or lesson the point that those who had vastly more access to equines than any other areas of the planet couldn't. How about the wheel?

That’s ok, but no, I’m not. There is massive overlap in desired genetic predisposition between professional sports, yet there are massive racial discrepancies when it comes to representation. Some sports are heavily white; some sports are heavily black. Some positions within those sports buck their trend. Self selection plays a huge role in that.

You really think there aren’t a bunch of white boys who wanna be RBs and DBs?

Nope. That’s why I laid out criteria.

What I’m saying is that there are more black boys who have the necessary genetic predisposition, the early age encouragement/societal pressure in sports to foster and build on that, and then the desire to be a running back (or corner back) more than anything else in the world such that they were willing to sacrifice decades of their life to pursuing that goal than there are white boys who meet the same criteria.

Does that mean that it’s possible that the interest is identical between races but there are more genetically predisposed black people? It’s possible, but it doesn’t seem likely. If it were true, black people would dominate practically every sport. The fact that they don’t is a fairly strong indicator against.

But they have options or realistic chances to succeed in life in avenues other than professional sports and don't spent their lives on a dream only a very small percentage will achieve.

bullshite. You can take 100 of the best white and Asian runners and none of them will beat an average black trained runner in the 100 meter. Ever. Won't happen.

Blacks are faster than whites when it comes to running. Certain blacks in Kenya are also far superior to other blacks (and other races) when it comes to distance running.

I agree to an extent with the socio-economic aspect. Blacks who go to SEC schools, for instance, are usually from the poorest areas of the south (Black belts in Alabama, MS, GA, etc.) Excelling at sports is one way they use to get the hell out of those shitholes. But this doesn't mean they aren't genetically superior in certain athletic endeavors (running especially).

Julian Edelman is really fast, Cooper Krupp, Taytum Hill, Danny Amendola, Christian McCaffery, Adam Thielen... Are some of the fastest people in the NFL. All whites. There might be a few more I am missing.

Jordy Nelson was up there.

Gronk was fast for his size. Both JJ & TJ Watt are fast for their size. The Bosa boys are pretty fast.

John Lynch use to fly.,

The whole "blacks are faster" is bullshite. Look at that kid in Texas who broke a track & field record. He was white. And if blacks are faster than whites, how do you explain black people who are not athletic?

I think the problem in certain sports is that there are a lot of white people intimidated by blacks. Especially when it comes to basketball. There are whites who will not play basketball bc they immediately think the black players will have an upper hand on them and end up avoiding sports.

Just bc a black dude on a HS basketball team is 6'5" & "looks like he is probably good"doesn't mean he is.

When I was younger, I'd go with friends to a city park. It would be 20-25 black dudes & 3 or 4 white dudes I'd be with. And most of the black dudes people would assume they were good & they were average at best.. But they would have 3 or 4 dudes who were really good.,

I'm not going back to edit this & might not be getting my point through but telling your kid "Brown people are faster".. Then no matter what he will assume that's true & already he is intimidated.
