How trashy are tanning beds?

I seriously didn't think the whole tanning salon, tanning bed fad was still around. I remember it being popular around 10 years ago or so but thought the health issues and 'orange' look had sort of faded over time.
Been seeing a chick for the last couple months and she recently started going to a tanning bed just to 'get a base going' for summer. I don't get it, not to mention the burnt smell that follows the visits. Why do chicks think tanning beds are a good idea, or am I just dating a trashy girl?

Tons of girls still use tanning beds bro.
And you don't get the "orange" look unless you use spray tan.

I did it a month before my wedding so I would have a nice color. Didn't want spray tan staining my white dress(that actually happens).
I'll never get in a tanning bed again though.
Thankfully i still have a youthful face but I see women a few years older than me that have to regret those years in the bed, now that they have that leather face look.

I guess next time when friends, etc are out at the pool enjoying a nice day it should be normal to rather spend time in a tanning bed.
