video is only 3 minutes. Guy makes a sandwich from scratch.

He does not include the time it took him to smelt and cast the utensils and cookware he uses to cook the chicken.
All I can say is thank god I live in the modern age and am not a dirt farmer eating gruel every night.

I spent 6 months and $1500 to completely make a sandwich from scratch. Including growing my own vegetables, making my own salt from ocean water, milking a cow to make cheese, grinding my own flour from wheat, collecting my own honey, and killing a chicken myself.
He does not include the time it took him to smelt and cast the utensils and cookware he uses to cook the chicken.

This is the OG 1500$ sandwich. Not those shitheads who add 1480$ worth of edible gold to a 20$ sandwich and call it the most expensive

then he's a pussy. he could have use a stick to eat and a hot rock on an outdoor fire to cook it.

To truly make it from scratch he should’ve first invented the universe.

I saw this a few years ago, it’s still great.

Improperly placing the dollar sign behind the number may be the most annoying writing error I can think of.

I did not. I stumbled on this video from this same guy's video (his most recent) where he mines copper ore at around 1-2% purity from an abandoned mine, and then uses sulfuric acid, electrosis, and a muffin pan in his garage to smelt the copper into pure ore.

I wish he would have listed out prices because i'm not quite seeing how that would have cost $1500 if he didn't include production costs and labor

well he had to book a flight to get the ocean water to make the salt...I'm guessing that cost quite a a bit. I'm sure he had to travel to the various farms as well...plus all the materials needed to plant a garden.

That's the way it's done in some older computer formats

Didn't think of travel costs.
This is a pretty cool experiment but I think the $1500 is pretty arbitrary because he's really excluding a lot of actual costs

I could think of so many useful ways to spend $1,500, but that's just me.

That's why most people traditionally ate easier freaking bread and food in general. Mexican and tacos, gyros, etc. all had easy bread and food. Basically just put together whatever you had, throw on some spices, and throw it in your "bread" to eat it.
Also not sure why he needed all those ingredients?
Should have just made a PB&J on a tortilla. Grow some corn and peanuts, pick some berries and boom.

"committing murder" when it came to the chicken part, what a fricking pussy.
ETA: what about mayo or mustard? don't remember him making any of that. Might be why the sandwich was "not bad"
