Tell him to quit acting like a cat

Growing up, I had a basset hound that ate cat poop. The vet told us to pour a whole can of black pepper on a pile. It did not phase the dog one bit.

The vet was wrong. I used to raise beagles and occasionally one would eat shite. Put ketchup in the food and it will stop.

Kick dogs teeth in should do the trick

This seems like it’s accepting the dog’s behavior. The dog needs to know it can’t scratch the door.

Plexy glass it makes a high pitch sound
Dog will hate it and stop. Had a guy handy man staining my front door tell me about it. I tried it it worked.

SO had a hiking stick with koozies on each end that she left hanging on the door handle to keep her dog away. She also bought this stick-on film to protect the door from scratches so that's on there too.

Anti-freeze is the answer

Buy a cat with lightsabers to protect the door.

You need to socialize your dog more, baw. Also, you need to get him out of the house more in general if I had to guess.

how often do you run your dog? I'm not talking about taking him for a walk. Letting him sprint until he is worn out. Alot of that kind of behavior will go away if he is worn out. Dog parks are usually the answer. Also they have some spray at petsmart that is organic and non toxic that dogs hate. It doesnt smell to humans. Spray it on the door and he will stay away.
