Severing tires? That seems a bit extreme.

Yeah, I'm not having my son flagging down random cars to gripe at them. Too many crazies around for that.

I get mine to put their poop under the door handles of their cars.

Let the little ones enjoy trick or treating. Just turn off your porch lights around 8:30-8:45. Any time after that, its mostly just going to be teenagers with no costume ringing your doorbell.

Why does their neighborhood have to be shitty? They should be the change they want to see and do something about it. Just because they live in a less fortunate part of town doesn’t mean it has to be dangerous

They? You want kids and teens to "be the change"?

This is privileged, 100%. It is ONE night. It is candy. It is kids or mothers trying to give their kids a little bit of a normal halloween.

Maybe a few screw it all up and do dumb shite like take ornaments - but you judge all of these kids based on a few?

Give them your damn candy you old prick, or stay inside.

I will just say that they are kids. As long as they are respectful, then I don't have a problem with passing out candy to them.

I just look at it as an opportunity to make a kids night. In the long term what is an extra bag or two of candy?

Never seen it. This desire to be an a-hole to kids trick or treating is bizarre to me. Just leave your light off and go out to dinner if you’re bothered by it...unless you secretly enjoy being bothered by it, which is my guess.

Definitely. Wants to stand on his porch feeling righteous. Asking kids if they are from there? Is there some rule that says you can only trick or treat within a one mile radius of your own home?

Last year our HOA required RFID chips in our hands to enter the pool. At our last meeting we decided to hand out portable chip readers to anyone who wanted to use them to not give candy to outsiders. Should be foolproof but we'll see how it goes.

I am sure it will be great when you tell an 8 year old he doesnt belong here and can't have the cheap candy you are handing out to everyone else except them....

We’ve all seen it before, a hoard of beat up cars parking at the entrance of the neighborhood and getting out and causing trouble trick or treating. The question I always have is if their neighborhoodsare so safe, why do they come to mine and do their bidding...

I have two levels of treats. Neighbors kids get the prime candy. Peasants get recycled 2017 discard and MAGA stickers. .

While he has his kid jogging up and down the street chasing random vehicles.

OP is definitely "That Guy".

One year a couple of years ago a group of teenagers were causing trouble in the neighborhood. I could tell they weren’t our neighborhood kids. They were running around ringing doorbells and running off. I ended up calling the police about it said I’m pretty sure one of them was armed. Idk what happened after that but I know it stopped

I have a really crazy strategy with the interlopers. Follow me on this because it's complicated. I answer the door and hand them candy.
