The Key is to one up them with an even bigger conspiracy. When they mention the Maui fires scoff and ask them "You don't really think Maui is a real place do you?! C'mon you need to wake up, Maui is a fake island created by the government."

Most older people have a couple of traits that are only gained over time, experience and wisdom. I wouldn't be so quick to discount their opinions. IMHO

What, specifically, about CRISPR is a conspiracy?
The capabilities were understood 20+ years ago. Undergrad biology students were doing CRISPR experiments 15+ years ago.

I do these experiments by seeing how long fruits/veggies take to liquify in the fridge drawer.
