What's his addiction?

Is it money?

Is it girls?

Is it weed?

I've been afflicted by not 1, not 2, but all 3.

All this time I thought Roger made a living trimming up crepe myrtles and boxwoods (yeah...punny) and shite. That bit never crossed my mind.

IIRC: in one of those do you prefer a landing strip or MaryEllen Walton threads; how did Rog answer?

I suck at gardening... I am one of those people who excel at nothing, just do a lot of things in a passable manner.

I do however enjoy Monty Python.

Yeah, but the real world is not as fun. But it's solely due to the Holy Grail.

This is it. Unfortunately an addict can’t be helped until they want help. You can want it for them until the end of time, but until they want to help themselves, you’re wasting your time. I’m an alcoholic. My wife and parents wanted me to be sober a very long time before I wanted to be sober. In the short term, I could “control myself”, but I’d always go back for a drink days or weeks later. I had to want to be sober to put any significant amount of sober time together. Pray for him. Talk to him. Urge him to seek counseling. That’s about all you can do until he realizes he has a problem.

It sounds like cajunangelle may have had her interest piqued and may have designs of dragging you back into the old lifestyle.

I have had a couple former GFs who have done that, and I somehow resisted. So far, I am winning.

But it is my biggest weakness by far. I can control the drinking easily, but the other old habit dies hard.

Well, you’re certainly not helping things, Mr. Rooco Siffredi.

Hey, I'm not trained in doing interventions. All I can say is ALWAYS make it clear you're doing whatever you're forced to do because you love them. You love them very much.

Having said that, whether you're a four year old toddler or an old man facing the end of his life, or a family member dealing with substance abuse. You want and need affirmation that only authentic love can give, and sometimes it requires tuff love. Prayers for you and yours.

"Love is Repaid by Love Alone......
....and nourished by sacrifice"

It pays off, or it wouldn't be a thing.

Some things are worth the time.
