I just didn't unserstand the purpose. If it was for safety, or a cue Iike you're saying, I figured I'd try it.

It did feel useless, that's why I asked.

it makes more sense in this video, but i dont see the point of using it with a barbell OHP

and speaking of shrugs, I started doing them like this a few months ago. I was guilty of doing the neck flex as he describes not to do
shrug video

dude that's actually fairly normal lol. Everyone experiences those types of callus tears. Just clip it with finger nail clippers and DONT PEEL IT! It will be good to go in a couple of days.

That sucks about the bicep dude. Was it a partial tear or a total detachment? I have seen a few of those suckers snap while people were deadlifting. The usual culprit is jerking the bar of the ground and not keeping the arms extended at the start of the lift.

Yeah, I'm not worried about what he's saying. Ill never do the dumbell shrug he's talking about.

So I guess it's useless.

complete rupture of the distal biceps tendon. Actually it happened while making a tackle in a rugby game. Freak thing that I had done hundreds of times before.

They did a great job with the repair and I had some good PT, so it doesn't give me any problems. But I just know that the supinated position puts the most stress on that tendon and I get nervous with higher weight on the bar.

As you said, I concentrate on not jerking the weight and keeping the arms extended.

Make sure to do some direct bicep work if you aren't already. A good portion of the people I know that have had tears didn't do any bicep work and thought that could have contributed to the tear. Just don't deadlift within a couple days of working them since they will already be tight.

speaking of bro talk, anyone know their testosterone number? I had a physical last week and got them to test for my it. It was 591. They say the "normal" range is 200-1200, but I think my number may be a little low for my age (34), as some charts show an average around 680.

This number means nothing.

You need total T, Free T, and sex hormone binding globulin to make any real statements

I'm not worried about low T.

If anything, mine is too high. The amount of torque pulsating throughout my bones and muscle should be banned in 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Guam.
