What a joke. Only on this site will a substantial amount of opinions demand workers get their bonuses regardless of whether the company has made any money to pay said bonuses or employees accomplished anything to earn said bonuses. She lead with this video is in response to emails from employees upset they weren't getting their bonuses and how to stay motivated to work knowing you're only getting paid what your worth. This world is fuct

You make it sound like she’s running a lawn business. She can’t stop that sort of thing.

People in this thread I feel don’t have a good grasp of what CEOs do.

Everything is always on the precipice of failing in modern corporate America. You don’t tempt fate by pissing people off. Because maybe your business leaders agree with you. And maybe they don’t and tell the rest of the company yo ignore you.

For her work, Owen received bonuses of $1.29 million last year and $1.12 million in 2021. (Source is Vice)

I think this is the problem.

If the company did well enough to give nearly 8 figures in cash and stock bonuses to their executive team, they did well enough to give their employees a bonus.

Interesting how in most (all?) successful small businesses, the founder or guy at the top eats last. But somewhere the company gets big enough that the guy(s) at the top eat first even if the company is being driven into the ground. Odd.

And that’s just cash. She received 3.55 million last year in stock and options

I don't completely disagree with what was said to be honest. A bonus is not guaranteed especially in tough times. People are too damn entitled

That bitch got a $4 million raise before her cute little speech.

I think people have lost the context of the word "bonus."

It has become kind of like the word "hero."

IF it is expected regularly, I got some news for you; it ain't a damn bonus.

Just like if everyone that does something good is a hero then there are no more fricking heros.

Used to work for a subsidiary of Herman Miller. We made beautiful furniture but the morale of that company was the lowest I’ve ever worked with.

The end of that speech was the result of her opening the first of the three envelopes.

Can’t believe the number of people in here defending her.

Actually I can believe it.

You know the truth is sometimes a touchy thing. Choices of what to share and the presentation can make all the difference.

If your wife asks you, does this dress make me look fat, you can answer truthfully in several ways.

Option 1: No dear, it does not.

Option 2: No it doesn't but that blue one really accentuates your stunning eyes.

Option 3: It's not the dress, darling, it's all the cheesecake.

Option 4: You always look fat because you are fat.

All are true statements, some are probably better than others
