…..to everyone being on their phones. How many lights do you miss? How many cars cut in your lane while drivers are busy looking down at the phone?
When a light turns green and you pass the oncoming cars, I bet 2 out 3 drivers aren’t looking at the road.

Confession, today I thought I heard the phone ring in my pocket but it was the radio. I sat there fooling with it and didn't notice the light turned. I got through but several behind me missed the cycle. Sorry baws.

I can't wait for self driving cars. Once they perfect the technology it should become illegal to drive yourself. We'll all be a lot safer.

Traffic doesn't even faze us. We sit in the back seat and let the chauffeur do his thing while handling business, reclined, with champagne on ice.

none

at every stop light my hand rests on the horn

when the light turns green you get to a count of 2 and my horn is blowing

its just how you automatically have to drive now, to force people to stop looking at their phones

Then you still have to take an additional two seconds for the smooth brains to look in the rearview mirror at your and register what's going on.

It happens all the time to me. Usually the dumbass holding everyone up will be the last car through the yellow too, and the 4 others that would have made the light get to sit there through another cycle.

It's so funny I see this thread because just yesterday I started to really notice how many people were just walking around, completely absorbed in their phones, instead of living in the present. This can't be good for mental health, long term.

A significant portion of your life. Broke my horn in my last two trucks within two months.

It's way more than 2/3. It's closer to 8/10. It's indicative of nobody giving a damn about how their actions impact anyone around them.

My favorite saying working in Rome, was this: "Do you know what a nano-second is? The time between the light turns green, and the people behind you start honking."

Drivers cut the capacity of even huge roads, through their action, or inaction.

It's one of the reasons I don't take I-45 between Houston and DFW, people kicked back in their whips on their phones on one, on the other, everyone is looking out for trucks mergring or wandering livestock. I'll take driving through gay town (College Station) and Waco any day.

And to all you "just be patient" idiots... Do you want to spend 20% more of your life on the road than you need to because people aren't driving, they are Instagramming while driving? an extra ten minutes, each way, a day, for 40 years, yeah, it doesn't matter, right?

Does it though? Even if you're driving through the midwest in the winter, I'd rather be in the Marriott than be on the road.
