You mean to tell me you're comfortable firing into a crowd of people in a dark room with loud audio playing behind you?
ETA looks like you got the anchor because this is a terrible post.

quote:I'm not gonna lie, I probably wouldn't do much helping. And I don't feel bad about it. Every situation is different. And there are without a doubt a few that I would help people out with. Those mainly consist of some sort of 1 on 1 scenario where someone is in serious danger and I'm RIGHT THERE. I ain't running into a building to save people though. And if I'm in a populated area, and the odds of a lone gunman killing me are pretty slim, I'm not doing a damn thing to increase my chances of death. I own guns for the sole purpose of increasing the odds that I and any loved ones I'm with stay safe. If I'm alone in a house and jumping out a window increases those odds, that's what I'm doing. People everyday find themselves in situations where death is 100% in a criminals hands. The only reason I carry is if I'm ever in a situation like that, I'll have the opportunity to have some say in the matter.
Part of me is with you... but I would be pretty disappointed with myself if I had the ability to help and didn't try. Put me in the same room as an active shooter and I'll try to help. Outside of that it depends on the situation.

Alls you gotta do is run up on the fool and press the barrel to his head.

I can hang 4 pieces of brass in the air with two into two silhouettes at 15 ft while at a dead run laterally.
Total time to do it, I've been shooting since I was five and shoot a minimum of 500 rounds a month.
Once you shoot enough, some things you can do without thinking. I have nothing on the guys who shoot in IDPA competitions.
In a mass shooter situation, the shppter is typically exposed as people flee. Not as easy as shooting at a target, but maybe it would click in that moment. I pray to never find out.

Sorry man but if you are shooting 500rds a month as a 5 year old your parents sound pretty nutty.

I might be mistaken, but it sounds like you're being a smartass.
You are mistaken. When shite like this happens people think about arming themselves. This time I also had the thought whether I would have the time to actually get good at shooting.
Touchy touchy.

Reading comprehension of the OT...
I've been shooting for the last 25 years. I shoot a minimum of 500 rounds a month these days.
I didn't get my first handgun until I was 9ish.
Just like shooting.
