Cool, not everyone can be an OT Baller like you.

Just moved to canyon Lake Texas about 6 months ago from Madisonville Louisiana. Took a lateral transfer to my company's San Antonio location. So to answer the op question, I took no raise. Texas hill country is better then swampy Louisiana.

I work remotely and enjoy the perks of that.
I thought that Epic training = traveling to teach doctors how to use a program. Y'all are doing it via Skype now or something?
FYI: I signed up for an Epic (I think) interview about 5 or 6 years back along with a few other friends. I'd just been laid off of a solid job and was in a crossroads in life. Ended up skipping the interview and went back to school to be an EE. One of my ~3 friends that interviewed ended up getting a job with the Epic thing and he does really well. His starting pay was definitely more than mine (despite his not having a 4 year degree, much less a STEM one). He has to travel a ton, though, and I never have to spend a night outside of my home. Though at this point in my life (still single at 34), I'd happily take more money to travel. shite, I'd happily travel for ~2 months a year for no pay increase if I got to spend a free day or two in cool cities.

Also, this looks like a fun New Braunfels event:
They might as well take turns pissing on each other.

10% more than what I've made the last 5 years and moving expenses covered.

I would tomorrow for equal pay.

$0.
If I made in New Braunfels what I make in Houston, I'd live like a fricking king in beautiful country

There are different roles on Epic projects. I'm not a trainer, although I did start as one. I'm now a consultant, and most of my work is analyst work (system design, configuration re-work, answering how-to's that we get from providers/users, etc...). Occasionally, I'll do some project management work. All of my work is done remotely.
I've traveled for work 4 times in the past 8 months, some consultants are traveling consultants. Those guys are basically traveling Monday-Thursday night every week, but they are also making bank.

Believe me, other options were definitely considered. We strongly considered Hawaii, for instance.
Ultimately, both of our families are located in Louisiana and we're about to start a family. We wanted to be around our parents for at least the beginning of that, and my wife landed an awesome job in Louisiana. Also, we figured that we'd have to use all of our vacation time visiting our family, rather than going to cool places, if we lived away.

Same pay I have now, but we don't have any sites there.

New Braunfels, TX?
Or at least live close enough to work there.
I live over by SeaWorld
Pay raise would have to cover my extended commute and gimme flexible hours tho.

I finally found somewhere the OT likes.

Property taxes are very high in Austin and cost of living is very high too. It would have to be a big enough raise to overcome this.
Of course you can live in the cookie cutter Austin suburbs which looks the same in every state in this country.

A simple job offer and I am in. No state income tax alone would be a raise.
