I love all the credit card haters. They are so blindly incompetent.
As I said before, if you don't have the will power and cognitive ability to handle credit cards, you shouldn't use them, but they are superior in every way to a debit card and only inferior to cash if you are trying to stay off the grid.

I put everything possible on CC, and pay it off in full monthly. Usually the cash back is enough for Christmas shopping each year.
Haven't carried a balance in about 10 years.

Personally, my biggest reason for my cash transactions. I mean really, when you can walk in Target and many other places with you're phone on and Target has the capability to know that you just walked thru their doors, that's a little much for me.

Ive used my Amex to float whole jobs before and at the end of the month wrote them a 6 figure check so discipline isnt my issue as much as preference. Id rather pay for stuff up front because doing what I you never know what could happen. Most of my jobs are paid net 30-60. It can be a nightmare if something holds that up.

A wife and a credit card dont mix, so I got rid of the credit card. I think I made the wrong choice.

If you have to count, you aren't an OT baller.
I usually carry no more than several hundred dollars balance.

Have a $1500 balance currently, will pay it off on due date like always.
I thought this is what everyone did?
LOL to anyone who maintains a balance, that's freaking idiotic and doesn't help build credit.

I had a small local Louisiana bank who initially told me tough shite when I had 6k stolen from debit card in 07. I I was staying with them while finishing grad school in Florida prior to getting married and joining accounts. I fought them for over a year. They were eventually by a larger bank and everything was made right. I will never use a debit card again. We're not big spenders and I've never had interest.

If you know yourself and being slightly decoupled from your monthly expenses makes you (or your spouse) go overboard, then don't use credit cards.

Everything that can be paid by CC goes on the Amex.
This so I can get points. I pay it off every month and I get a nice itemized statement at the end of the year for taxes.

I have no doubt they will be 1099'ing this activity in a few years.

Can somebody in this thread who puts all of their expenses on a card for the rewards throw me a bone and sell me on what I will gain?
I earn some kinda points on just about anything I purchase. Even my debit card/checking account earns points. For me, it comes to about 2 free airplane tickets per year.
At only 3-4K per month, it would take some time but I would guess you could get a free plane trip every 2 years or so.

you may not be liable but you still have to wait for them to put the money back into your account.
If you are really worried about not using your credit card because of debt reporting and having no self control. You can always prepay each month for the amount you budgeted

Your post is an excellent reason not use them.

4k. Paid off in full each month. It's the only debt I owe.
