Worked for a municipality in 98 for my first real paying job in high school. The city's minimum wage was $7.11.

1st job - $5.15 an hour
2nd Job - $8 an hour lifeguarding
3rd Job in college - back to minimum wage, but may have been in the $6 range then.
4th job - $12/12.50 an hour
5th Job - $XX an hour.

I'm doomed for a tailspin.

Its amazing how many people didn't need $15 an hour to eventually become successful members of society.

When my dad got out of the service in the late 60's, he supported a family on min. wage. I think rent on a 1200 sq. ft house was around $40, and gas was 29 cents a gallon.

I guess my first job would have been selling peanuts in TS when I was 11 or 12. I made $150-$200 a game. Mainly in the first half. Was able to watch game for free and earned about $100 an hour....life hasn't gotten better

Putting up hay when I was 13 or so, 4.25 an hour. Other than that I don't think I have ever made min wage even when I worked in restaurants.

$4/hr when I was 12 and worked in my Dad's glass shop. Then the bastard took half every paycheck and put it into my college account. At the time I was pissed as I could've bought a bunch of fish and other crap for my fish tanks, but coming out of college debt-free wasn't so bad of a trade-off.
