never understood getting a ticket on the causeway, speed between the crossovers, slow to 70 about a mile before you get to them...

They have a plane that flies over and calls in speeders too. I have been flying and heard it's radio chatter before.

Me either but I got 2 in the past year. Got an article 894 on both of them. Different parishes.

Both of them were $185 between 11-15 over.

So I plead not guilty so I could talk to the DA about it. Is it too late to use the article 894?

I called the number that was given on the ticket, I asked what i had to do to get an article 894. They looked at my record and said I could get it. If your record is clean you wont have a problem and it doesn't cost any more than a regular ticket.

Call the DA and ask about PTA. You will have to pay a fine, but it usually gets reduced to a non-moving.

Call and find out what days they do traffic court.

Go to the courthouse on a different day and ask to speak with the DA/AsstDA.

"Is there anything I can plead to that is not a moving violation?".

There surely is.

They want A) Their money and B) a conviction so the DA can say he has a 99.8753875% conviction rate next election.

???

Profit.

first off anyone who doesn't get a lawyer for a speeding ticket is a moron. It's almost always cheaper and a lawyer will always knock it down to a lesser charge.

Or you just go to your court date and they will offer to drop it to a non-moving ticket in exchange for pleading guilty. They just want their money as easily as possible and it becomes a hassle to them when someone pleads not guilty so they offer to drop it in exchange for going ahead and getting their cash
