For a single 20s male. I know it’s a lot more expensive than most places but would 45-50k be pushing it if I had a roommate? I don’t have a car payment or any other debt. My expenses would just be gas, groceries, that sort of thing. I have a buddy that lives there and parties a lot and maybe I’ll convince him to buy my drinks every once in a while but this would be a pretty good way in to the industry I want to work in so I probably wouldn’t be out partying or whatever. I can stay content staying home, reading books watching sports etc.

You can make it work, but it will be a struggle monthly

How long are you planning to be there?

If it’s a good opportunity to get a foot in the door you will be ok with a roommate. You will be making a lot of sacrifices but you’ll get by. I live in palm beach gardens so pretty equivalent CoL.

South FL in 2023 is not a place for someone without money or prospects for making it soon.

COLA has exploded in FL and you are going to be sucking wind in an area where everyone either has money or is pretending and spending like they do.

How much can you make ubering folks from the airport to the cruise ship terminal? That a decent side hustle?

Maybe a year or 2 at the max, and then start hunting for a job in a lower cost of living area. Maybe North Carolina or back to texas, but we will see.

I would assume so.

They would have to pay 50k+ if there is no health insurance included.

I think FTL is the 2nd best city in the USA. It's got a great vibe to it and the people who live there are actually normal and not loony like Orlando, SF, Seattle, NYC, etc.

My buddy moved there a couple years ago and he loves it. I doubt he will ever move back to Texas.

You’ll be living in Sunrise or Oakland Park, but sure you can swing it.

I grew up and live down here. If you have a roomate you can make it happen. Plenty of my friends work shitty retail/service jobs and still get by just fine.
