Got to be a couple grand a month, right? I was in the area today so I went in probably the first time in two years. It felt like a flea market with the employees standing by the entry asking can they help you as you walk by. Very few people there , most were young men with pants saggin’ and women with bonnets wearing pajamas ( nobody buying anything)Food court workers just playing on there phone.. The companies there have to be taking a loss

You know it’s the end of malls when there’s no new mall to replace the old mall.

RIP Bon Marche & Cortana! We loved you and have great memories!

Mall of Louisiana, not so much.

It was dying anyway, but that poor young lady getting killed in the food court by a stray bullet will just speed it up.

The question is, what will be done with that property? It's actually prime real estate. It's just that most malls were declining already and that one unfortunately started attracting the thug element on top of that.

I just don't know what else you could turn it into. That land itself is worth a fortune though.

I don’t go to the MoLa often. But 5-10 times a year IG I had to guess. And almost any time I’m there it seems like it’s doing fairly well. People everywhere (and normal people, not filled with trash), people buying shite, packed food court of people eating (not loitering).

Maybe I just happen to hit it on good days, who knows.

But any time I’m there it feels like it has rebounded from about 6-8 years ago when it just felt dead.

Disclosure: I haven’t gone since that shooting though. Not avoiding it, just haven’t had a reason to go I guess. So maybe it’s changed in the couple months since I last went.

I'm a 48 year old man. There's nothing at any mall that interests me anymore, but I give that place maybe 5 years.

The only stores that will make it there for another generation are those where the customer would never, ever go to Amazon. The expensive jewelers will be the last ones left standing even as they’re surrounded by perfume sprayers and 3 for $25 sunglass stands. Dillards and Macy’s may not last but they’ll be there longer than most. Also, there must be 10 “urban clothing” stores.

Dillard's is doing VERY well.

Pretty sure the department stores will outlast the mall.

Went last Friday to Dicks and went to the food court..This was around 5:00 in the evening. Ive been going there since it opened....a bit more since I have teens now and it was moderately busy. I remember Cortana circa 2009. That place was dead even then and it stayed going for a while. I think Mall of LA has some time.

Tragic story indeed but that Tru Bleeda rapper and his boys hanging out of a car after getting lit up back in ‘22 at 1 pm in the afternoon showed me where the mall was heading. Imagine eating a decent meal at J Alexander’s and seeing that from a window table.

Story of the ‘22 murder outside of mall

And then soon someone shot and killed the poon who shot and killed them. Doesn’t matter. Bluebonnet mall area in the middle of a week day is too close for anyone.
