4 ounces of blood.

Defrost the whole unit. Had a repair man charge me for 3 trips out to change different parts on my Samsung French door. After the failed attempts, I fixed the ice maker by defrosting the unit and turning it back on. Has worked for a few years now.

Parents use a countertop portable now and empty into freezer tray maybe once a day. It’s better ice. (Small bullets) and cost about $80-100.

I have same fridge and same problem...went out and
purchased the Opal counter top nugget ice maker, solved all my problems. it was a little pricey, but as long as the s/o is happy with it, is all that matters

According to r/homeimprovement, those are a nightmare to work on.

As others have stated, this is a known issue with this fridge. I know, because I have had the same problem and had it "fixed" several times now. The issue is the seal between the ice machine and the refrigerator will eventually fail allowing the warmer air from the fridge to seep into the freezer area of the ice machine. When that happens, the ice thaws and then refreezes creating a huge block of ice that gets stuck to the side walls of the ice bin stopping the ice maker from making more ice. You can defrost it with a blow dryer, remove all of the ice and it will start working again...until it does the exact same thing. Bottom line is you will never truly fix this thing. It's garbage. I bought ice trays as someone else posted above.

Inherited a Samsung fridge in my house. Quickly entered into a war with the icemaker
I am looking forward to the day I can put a bullet in ours.
I will never buy Samsung again, for anything.

I did not get suckered into the new shiny, all electronic gadgets, pricey Samsung or LG refrigerator/freezers. I kept my dependable and plain Kenmore. An entire replacement ice maker is $60 on eBay and takes 20 mins to replace. I did it once so that’s that. It’s still humming along.
