Me, my wife, and a 2 year old.

If I had to ballpark it, probably around $600/month including lunches and coffees.

Damn.

Even when we were soccer and footballing every weekend we didn’t approach 1k a month average. Probably 3-500 when kids were still with us.

ETA: now that I think about it, that was just us as a family. I probably spent a couple hundred myself a month when I worked on base and was fatter. So maybe 1k isn’t outrageous.

Family of 6, average bill probably is the 125-150. I typically get one or two cocktails and my youngest two order off the kids menu. We do that 2 maybe 3 times a month.

A couple times a year we’ll do Ruth’s or something comparable price wise and that will be north of 500.

When I say 1k/mth that’s school lunches, coffee, etc, etc, with 2 boys. With that said I know it’s high.

Or you could try to prepare a few meals a week.

So you mean per month?

Just two of us, probably $700-800/mo. We used to spend a lot more but have been cooking at home a lot more lately.

Edit: This is just on dinners. No clue what it is if you factor in buying coffees/lunches during the workweek.

A typical day for me is as follows:

Today I had Special K and skim milk (.25 and .20 respectively) for breakfast. I drank four glasses of tap water for lunch. For dinner I had leftover lentil beans which I made with a whole chicken I bought on sale for $3.44. I also made a chicken burrito. Lots of leftovers. About 65 cents for dinner. I made country tyme lemonade also on sale (.10) and had 3 more glasses of tap water before a cup of hot tea for bed(.05).

Monday total
2000 cal
$1.25
On pace for a $8.75 week

Sometimes for lunch I will splurge

1/4 a can of pickled beets (.18)
1/40 bottle of Caesar dressing (.05)
