That depends on how much money me makes on the illegal activities that he launders through the business

toyota and honda dealers can pull as low as 20k and as high as 200k.
BMW and mercedes sales man as low as 40k as high as 200k.
Every salesmen I have spoken too has said they would never go back to not selling luxury cars.

I know one at All-Star Ford who makes 80-100k a year. Sells 20-30 vehicles a month easily.

Would probably say 50 hours, but out of those 50 maybe 35 are actually working and rest are BS
Posted on 10/10/16 at 11:28 am to tduecen
but every Saturday right?

Thinking about a career change?

Sorta, he went in every Saturday but usually rolled out at 2pm because he already had his sales and would "split" whatever he had working that day. He could have sold more but took every Friday off and half days on Saturday.

lol I think he was referring more to the buy here pay here lots like my friend owns with 20% financing rates and if you dont make payments they shut off your car from the office and leave you stranded and you cant go get your food stamps. I think its awesome my friends lot is simple, theyre all trash cars you owe $99/week thats it, pretty straight forward, its not his fault people end up paying $15k for a $5k car.
These are exactly the POS people who give used car salesman a bad name.
It might be legal, but that shite is un-ethical as frick.

I don't love it, but its like the people that use pay day loans. If it wasn't for the sleazy used car sales, that population would never own a car. Which is worse? Having to find a job that you can ride a bike to or paying high interest rates?
With the internet, Auction sales will never be a place to make huge profits. Basically the dealers buy the cars at auction at private sale prices and their mark-up is their profit. Why would an auction house sell a car these days to a dealer if they could sell it for more elsewhere?

These are exactly the kind of people that public transportation in the south were designed for.
I know there are no laws against it, but selling someone who you know won't be able to make the payments a junk car with an extremely high interest rate, squeezing whatever you can out of them, and then shutting their car off and repeating the process to the next desperate person that walks through you door is unethical.
They do it because they can collect payment after payment on a car without ever having to renew their inventory and they have no consequences for it. It's deplorable behavior though.
If you can't qualify for a car loan, you just shouldn't be buying a car. It's the same process that brought down the housing market.

quote:most people don't pay 15K for a 5k car because they are never going to pay it anyway. You think these people are walking in with a 600 credit score and getting these rates? No these are people that systematically have ruined their credit and not paid their bills on time or maybe even ever in a long time. Many have back child support so they can't go thru a regular lending institution.

I understand why they are in that situation.
But the attitude that I am going to loan them this car knowing full well they won't ever repay the full amount and then put a chip in it that I can remotely shut it off when they inevitably miss their payment is unethical. They will take that same car back and put another 15K loan out on it to the next desperate person who comes through their doors. This way the dealer can keep having payments coming in without having to renew their inventory.
It's predatory behavior.

Then get mad at the dumbasses that try to buy the car knowing full well that they won't be able to pay for it. Those people are the scum that resides

They are certainly dumbasses as well, but both sides are scum.
ETA: Being poor doesn't necessarily make you scum, though typically the people who make these sort of deals have put themselves in position to be called that.

I work at a small town Ford dealership. While I don't make $160k, I am knocking on 6 figures. Plus I get every other Saturday off and we close at 630 in the evenings
