My town has 1200 year round residents Google barely knows we exist. We won’t touch the cabinets. Just the walls, windows and trim. I’m probably better off YouTubing the best techniques and doing it myself.

Then use the closest decent sized city and Google that. Honestly, right now is the time to negotiate the best price. My painters want to buy their families Christmas gifts too. Exterior painting is not something that is fun during winter time and most interior painting slows down considerably this time of year.
I just bid for a commercial interior job at thousands less than I would any other time of year because it is a chance to keep my guys working. That will be true for about another month. Then I will get much more aggressive with my bids because work will pick up. As the weather warms, and March rolls around, it will be hard to find good, reputable painters because the good ones will be booked. By April and May, you’re paying us top dollar and it lasts that way until nearly Thanksgiving.

Oh, and until then, I will gladly give you a great bid for interior work even if it is 25-30 miles down the road.

This is sound advice and I appreciate it. I will check some of the larger cities. It will likely end with me in a poop suit, expressing my undying love for my wife.

People don't understand they are going to have to pay a % for waste.

And most people can't grasp your labor rate of 50-70 per hour. "I can get mexicans at home depot for 12 per hour"

Ok, go get em. Figure in insurance and burden and get back to me. Go buy all the equipment needed to do the job.

Most people are clueless on trade jobs.

Homeowners are exempted from work comp related injuries in LA. They can sue your homeowners insurance but they have to prove negligence.

That's what I was getting at. Should have been clear that I was talking about Louisiana.

I can see wanting the bonded/insured to protect you from them breaking things, but if they hurt themselves in the course and scope of the job they aren't gonna get very far.

We had our house interior painted last year. It is 2200 sq. ft. It was $7,000. We used CertaPro and I could not have been happier with the results.

a co worker of mine just had his interior repainted. He has everything (doors, trim, window casings, walls) re coated. The painted used Benjamin Moore paint and if i remember it was about $10,000 for a 1,800 sf house.

Third: make sure they use paint from a Sherwin-Williams store or a PPG store or the like. The paint you get from Lowe’s or Home Depot, even though it has the Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams logo, is an inferior product. Those stores stock paint with those logos and it isn’t remotely the same thing you get directly from the manufacturer, which is contractor-grade. It ain’t as cheap, but it is your home and worth it to do it right

Fwiw, consumer reports has Behr with 3 of their top 4 ratings, the other being Valspar. A Benjamin Moore line is 5th.

I think what you just said is BS, but the rest is great advice.

How much to repaint the entire interior of a 3200 sq. ft. home?

Ceilings?

Cabinets? Inside and out?

I would say 5,000 - 8,000 depending on the answers to those questions.

I'm in this industry.

No reason to ever pay over $3/ft2 living.

I've done over 2 dozen houses in the last 2 years and never paid more than that.

PM me I'll send you my guys contact. He just finished a 2000ft2 house for me and it was $3800. He was excellent btw.

We bought a 2,300 sqft house and had literally every room, trim, cabinet (inside and out) and interior door painted. I've always been a DIY guy when it comes to painting but this was just too much to handle myself.

Really happy with the work.

It’s very pricey. I’m at the point where I’m in the wrong business
