Just set an all time record with a $421 bill with Cleco. Yikes

$389 to $418, but I have been keeping my pool cool.

$475
Over $100 more than highest bill previously in the 25 years we’ve been in this house.

NWLA AEP Swepco
$606 current bill
I looked into it vs this time last year. I actually used less KwH and the bill is damn near double.
I found -
The "fuel cost to carry" had increased 53% and there are 2 "rate riders" that add up to $80 together. One is a storm charge fee and one is a renewable resource fee that I give zero fricks to pay but apparently they were approved by the state commission.

I never look at it. Go sit outside in the Southern August heat for a few hours, then walk inside. Whatever it costs, it costs and it’s worth every cent.

Mine is the highest it has ever been in 15 + years of living at my house. Entergy. 2370 living area.
Our house is about the same size and our bill (levelized) is about $190/mo. Granted, we don't get those cheap winter bills, and we have gas as well. I'd say that averages to about $25/mo. We are on Demco.

I have ATMOS Energy, and I actually have a credit with them of about $300.00, because I always send in $75.00 per month. My bills average about the same as you per month for gas, although the winter months do increase to about $60 or $70 as I will use my gas fireplace to help heat the main portion of my house.
I most likely need to look at switching to levelized billing.

Don’t know how it is in other states, but Alabama Power has “budget billing” where your monthly power bill is a set average. Mine is $279.00 every month.
My house is a two story brick, like 2,200 sq ft of living space. I have two heat pumps, one for the downstairs that stays on 70 degree year round, while the one for the upstairs stays on 72 year round.
