I have to say I didn’t expect people to carry mil in coverage

You didn't expect people with assets to want to transfer their risk?
Avoiding wage garnishment, financial ruin, and losing their homes ( primary homes are not protected from suit in all states) for a relatively low amount of premium is a pretty common thing.

Idk I never thought about that since I have health and life. Also the coverage can get pricy and chances are low so EV felt off.
Are you an insurance salesmen?

Definitely the major drawback... But I will say, just like I realized how TRULY stupid people could be surprised me when I joined the military, working in this has shown me an even deeper side and I am constantly surprsied :rotflmao:
Wish I would've been good at sales, really easy way to make a bankroll.. Tis what it tis though..

What does health and life have to do with it? The assumption your health insurance is going to cover your injuries is a broad one.
Depending on state, an umbrella policy is 300-700 annually for a mil in coverage.

Are you an insurance salesmen?
why do you assume he is insurance because he understands risk transfer?
What he said is common knowledge
what he said is especially true if you or your spouse owns a business.
but if I am a high net worth individual....why would I not want to transfer risk and make sure I hold onto my assets for a small monthly fee in comparison?
if you have kids of driving age...makes even more sense to do so.

exactly and even if they health insurance covers his...its not covering the other driver if its his fault
lose control and hit a building/house....not covered past the limits
other drivers car...not covered past the limit. example....hit a guy driving a new SUV and you have min coverage and it totals it....yea you are fricked.

100%
thats when i realized....i could never ever ever do anything that worked with gen pop, especially the poorer side of that equation
may god bless you, you have way way more patience than I could ever be. frick that man
like it would be cool chasing like legit mafioso or even legti gangster
but take THE wire for example which was about as realistic as you could get for inner city drug work back in the early 2000s and for every Barkersdale or Stringer bell....you got to deal with 250 corner boys who barely made it to 4th grade. frick that
and thats not even mentioning trailer park trash
yea I could never

Worst ones are the ones that get caught doing something illegal, know they messed up, and then sit there and argue against it and have a problem with you for doing your job
And I appreciate you, jealous of that engineering gig you got not going to lie

So he can discount anything I say as if I'm trying to make commission off of him on TD
It's a low IQ move anytime someone feels uncomfortable about a topic they are ignorant on.

so many do it on here...they project insecurities on others. Its why you see so many people on here complaining about how other people spend their money.
but i dont get it with fareplay...in the past he has said he drives a Porsche and talked about how wealthy he is
if you are wealthy....why would you risk losing it all over an extra 1k a year or so?
not very good risk vs cost analysis thats for sure.

if you have health insurance what is the point of all the UM coverage?
Wife was hit and had her relatively new "luxury" SUV totalled. The at fault party had insurance, but not enough. It definitely happens.

This thread is full of people that have so little confidence in their own driving that they carry coverage above the minimum
I think location matters especially if you live around a bunch of illegal immigrants who aren’t going to have insurance or assets. Either way the majority of people don’t have a pot to piss in so the whole “coming after your assets” thing isnt reality you can’t squeeze blood from a turnip.
