So, I'm wondering what it takes to get a suspended license in LOuisiana
I don't think LA cares as long as you pay on time. Miss the court date and don't pay for 180 days and it's suspended.

St. Tammany. I have no connections and have no clue how to get tickets fixed. Was planing on going to talk to the DA about getting it reduced to non moving vio so it doesn't hit my insurance.
Cop told me I should have slowed down which I considered but was still concerned that nonetheless I'd have a spinning vehicle flying at me.
After I got the ticket I asked him why he didn't pull that car over too when they were obviously speeding and a huge hazard to the road. He just said have a good day. Hope they didn't cause an accident.

What if you just left earlier from now on, and didn't rush everywhere?

On one occasion, I got a ticket in Ascension parish, right outside of Donaldsonville. There were a few people I was going to ask if they could try to get it fixed for me, but it would have been a "big favor" for them to ask to get it fixed. It was before 7AM on a Sunday morning. No one was on the road and I was about to go into the city limits of Donaldsonville flying..
It looked like something you see in a movie, but all of a sudden, I am driving south and then I see one car coming north. It was a cop. I looked in my rear view mirror and he did a U turn as he hit his lights... I pulled over, I had no idea how fast I was going, but I knew it was pretty fast. I was clocked going 83 in a 35. The cop was cool about it considering, but he had to give me a ticket. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to go try to fight it before paying, but ended up forgetting all about it (I was younger). One day, the constable comes knock on my door and me the papers. It was a warrant for my arrest, which would remain in place until I payed my fine.
It ended up costing more than if I would have just paid it in the first place, but it didn't go on my insurance or anything.

Honestly, it doesn't seem that you're in the running yet unless you keep getting a ticket a month. Assuming that isn't the norm you should be fine.
BTW speeding by itself doesn't make someone a bad driver IMHO. I do it all the time and haven't had an accident in over 20 years. Not paying full attention is what gets people in trouble, either with an accident, a ticket b/c you didn't see the cop in time, or both.

Don't waste your time, just go to your court date. More than likely it will be changed to a non moving violation. Also, I am not sure if it differs from parish to parish or what, but I think if you just pay it off it will be considered a non-moving violation. I would just call the sheriff's office (or whoever issued you the ticket) and ask them just so you don't assume anything.
Don't be nonchalant when you call, make it sound as if you are really concerned about it.. They will be more likely to work with you, if you are really concerned opposed to just coming off as if you just want to know what you need to do type attitude.

Like I said, I was younger.. This was.. over 10 yrs ago I think. I still might have a copy of the ticket. I'll see if I do later and post it. I would never do some stupid shite like that today.

If your arse had stayed in the kitchen where you belong, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

You should stop driving before you do something really stupid and hurt someone.

I would have thought it could be changed w one ticket...:but now that I have two? ?? Does the cop who wrote the ticket have any power really? This cop from today hates me and I was prob short w him after he gave me the ticket.
I just felt like I was really trying to protect myself and my kid and get f-ed bc he had to meet his end of the month quota

You could have slowed down. That would have helped protect your child. Not speeding.
I think you should apologize to the officer.

I thought of that. Have you ever seen something get wrapped under someone's front tires while they are going 80? I have it's not pretty. Spun out of control at super fast speed. Scary.
