re: How many suits do you own?

I think my husband has 3 and several sport coats and he doesn't wear them for work. That purchase after the flood was a big one to replace them.

Not counting formal wear I have 17, probably 50 dress shirts and at least 100 ties, but I wear a suit 5 days a week normally and sometimes 6. I have always had three pairs of pants made for each jacket because I spend the vast majority of my day without the jacket on so the pants wear at roughly the rate of the jacket.

Somebody didn't like us talking bad about their attire

I've probably worn a suit 3 times in the past 5 years, all at funerals. It would be an absolute waste of money for me to have 5 sitting in my closet collecting dust.

None, now.

I wore a suit and tie every day, six days a week for sixteen years.
I have not worn a suit since 8/26/05, and they’ve all been happily disposed of

I've attended a lot more funerals than weddings in the past decade. I think I'm getting old. The next wedding I'll attend will probably be a niece, nephew or one of our kids

Yeah, I started to say 'weddings and funerals' until I realized I haven't been to a wedding in years.
