I have 7. 5 for the week with 2 in the cleaners rotation. Couple of the grey family, Black, 2 Blue family (navy an lighter), Tan I guess and a darker brown.

You're dry cleaning your suits too often.....

I'll try to be helpful. I wear a suit and tie everyday, and I went through a similar predicament.
I would say that a 7 suit (or sc/trouser) combination would work well for someone who does not particularly care about clothing, and wants to get through the week.
Tailored clothing benefits from rest. A suit that you wear every other day will last less than a year. A suit that you wear once a week often last more than five years. Same goes for shoes (if not more so).
I think you need to get 4 suits in the rotation ASAP, even if you go to Jos. A. Bank. Start with mid to dark grey and navy solids. If you have a dark grey suit, a mid grey suit, a dark navy suit, and a mid-to-dark navy suit (i.e., a total of 4 suits), no one is going to notice if you wear one of those twice a week. Pair those suits with white shirts or blue shirts or white-blue discreetly patterned shirts, and conservative foulard ties. Just keep it simple and somber, and no one will notice the difference. It is be the boring guy than the guy who has five ties that he wears each day of the week.
Once you have the bare minimum basics, you can start to focus on quality and fit. Most inexpensive suits will be fused, and fused suits just don't last well with daily wearing. After a few dry cleans, the fusing will start to bubble, the fabric will feel leathery, etc. I would recommend trying to buy half- or fully-canvassed garments once you have a decent rotation. Samuelsohn is a nice option for something conservative and well-made, and at a respectable price. There are other, better options, but it may take some digging to find what works.
I typically buy an inexpensive "beater" suit once or twice a year to replace those that are wearing out, and either one or two mid-range suits or one high-end suit per year. I would suggest that you purchase, when available, suits in seasonally appropriate fabrics. Although not available in RTW, there is a lot of great fabric out there that can make wearing a suit palatable in this weather. Tropical wool and high-twist cloth and open-weave cloth (Fresco/Finmeresco/Spring Ram and their equivalents) and W/S/L blends are great in Louisiana. I find that if you are going to put up with wearing tailored clothing every day, you have to embrace it as a hobby and take an interest in it. Otherwise, you are going to spend a lot of money just being miserable.

Well congrats, you were. I swear, I would love to have a few Sonic meets with posters here. It's like a love child of Brad and Chad posts here for the vast majority of people. If there's anything worse than trashy, it's an egotistical douche.

A pro tip to get your suits, jackets, slacks, etc to last longer is the suit brush. I have used one for the last few years and it is amazing the difference it makes. I can go almost twice as long between cleanings (it is nasty how much stuff a suit jacket can absorb)

This
ETA - the suit is the least practical thing in existence and I hope I never have a job that requires one for any reason. It's just stupid. It's faux sophistication and a dumbass in a suit is still a dumbass.

Sounds like UPS Corporate office. No matter where you rank, you need to have that suit jacket on even to walk from your car to the office building in July.

Great advice! A Kent suit brush is an investment that will pay for itself.

If you don't think a man looks best in a well fitting suit, we're going to have to disagree.
Also a man in a suit to women is what a women in lingerie is a a man.

Tell the Fancy Dan wearing the fabulous seersucker that his coat sleeves are too short.

Run a check-with-me system with your wife/girlfriend on the weekend just to make sure you’re good for the week.

Start off by buying 3-4 suits (2 blue/navy and 2 Gray/charcoal) and get 2 pairs of pants for each suit. The multiple pants for each suit will increase the lifespan of your suit because the pants are always the first to go.
Add or replace a suit every 6 months or so.

Theee suits will be plenty. Maybe get a sports coat for Friday (if permissible). Make sure you have several ties (15?) and shirts (probably 8-10).
