Allergy season is in full swing just in time for this coronavirus pandemic. I bet a lot of paranoid folks are going to waste medical resources after they've sneezed due to allergies.

Sneezing isn't a symptom of Rona

Runny nose isn't either

Yeah my dry cough magically goes away every day after I take my Zyrtec.

My allergies get in my sinuses then cause me to get a cough by getting into my lungs. So I imagine I am not the only one this happens to and I am sure people will think its rona.

ETA: The looks I have been getting from my allergies causing me to cough the past week have been great

Got a dry cough and a scratchy throat the other day. Figured it was allergies but self isolated for a couple days just to be sure.

Without a doubt. People will think watery eyes and sneezing is Rona too.

Yeah i read it. Cough though is very common with allergies. People are coming to urgent care centers and ER's with cough but absent of other symptoms. Also, people are calling and wanting to be tested, for no other reason than they have a cough.

Allergy season combined with wuhan virus season is a bit of a problem.

You and me both.

This last week, I've had to constantly reassure people my cough is due to seasonal allergies and not wumonia. And I work in a hospital.

More importantly, OP, how many people are going to ask the same question on the OT before the coronavirus is gone?

for alot of people like me, merely taking a zyrtec (as other responses put it) doesn't help my allergy symptoms one bit. i have to take a regimen of three allergy medicines every day of the year - regardless if im having a flare up or not.

even then, there are times of the year it isn't quite enough.

the real answer though is that even in my worst allergy flare ups, i dont have a fever, body aches, sore throat, extreme fatigue, and i can tell it is a different type of discomfort than an infection.
