I went in to the dr the other day - 5'10 172lbs, told me I was overweight per the BMI "scale" without doing any actual BMI calculations on me, whether caliper or gravity related. Granted, this was a PA, but she still should have known better than to tell me I needed to lose weight per those generic matrixes.

With that being said, if you get out of Louisiana, to a "healthy" state, you can actually see the rate of obesity diminish.

i don't think the OP was calling for intervening in other folks lives. People have the freedom to choose to be fat. We also have the freedom to shame them.

My mom isn't fat. My dad is 62 and my brother is 40. My dad has a giant beer belly but is otherwise not fat. My brother is starting to gain a bit kind of like my dad.

I'm the least active between the males in my immediate family and can already see the "dad bod" coming through, but I try to go to the gym 3 days a week to keep it at bay.

Just got back from the 30A. I’m embarrassed for America. I can count on one hand the number of adults I saw who didn’t have fat backs

What part of the 30A? Every morning there are tons of fit people over 35 riding bikes and running from Blue Mountain to Inlet Beach.

I don’t really have any fat friends. In fact most of the hot broads I knew in school and am still friendly with are in great shape. They’re like 25-30 though. This might change in the coming years. But even the ones with babies look good. Most of my bros are in good shape as well.

90% of people I work with that are over 35 are fat though.

It’s disgraceful.

I'm in the minority here, but most of my family over the age of 35 are in decent to good shape. Minimal fatties outside of a few cousins.

Up until my late 30's I was right around 185ish (I'm 6'1") and was athletically built. Now, at 42, I'm 210ish and, while I remain athletically built, I've got a damn beer belly...every pound I gain seems to go right to the gut.

Metabolism slowing down is a bitch. The older I get the less interest I have in working out regularly so energy levels drop which just makes working out seem like more and more of a chore. Sitting behind a desk all day doesn't help matters.

That lady in your pic has a nice, toned physique! I especially like her feminine shoulders and soft chin. Can you ask her where she works out? I've been looking for a place with FRP walls because I really like the feel of working out in a bathroom. The dirty AC vents and gold accented ceiling fans are really nice too!
