My wife didn't have sex with people she wasn't in a serious relationship with or that she couldn't comfortably say she was in love with. I respect that.

And that's fine. If it took her 6 months to feel ready, that is FINE. Actually, it's commendable that she didn't do something she didn't want to do when she wasn't ready.
But if she would have felt ready after 2 weeks, that's fine too.
And if she wanted a hookup the night she met you and then it ended up more, that's okay too.

see what's going on here? the married woman in the conversation is trying to belittle you into thinking she's always right, and since she's getting validation from a girlfriend, she's that much more justified. i bet she does that to her hubby all the time, then goes on the internet and acts like the super cool, down to earth wife every guy wants.
