My last dental visit resulted in me finding out I needed 2 root canals (and then crowns)

Before this year I never had a crown now I have 2. Crazy how expensive they are.

How many crowns do you have? How old were you when you needed your first?

Maybe you should start brushing your teeth

You can get free dental work in prison.

This thread would've been better titled "How many of y'all have rotten-arse teeth?"

I have two. But I didn’t start taking going to the dentist serious until well into my adult years.

Plenty of fillings. Some say dental work is a scam.. but now that I go pretty regularly for cleanings I enjoy it.

Especially when you know what they cost the dentist.

Pull them things out and get bolt-ons. You’ll end up getting implants anyway. Might as well skip the root canal, and crown, then the crown going bad in a few years.

Rotten teeth are a health hazard. Get rid of them ASAP.

Wait until you have some implants done. Crowns are rookie prices.

I've got 2 because I used to grind my teeth at night and broke off two of my molars.

I brush twice daily and floss every night

My problem is a bad soda addiction

The reason I decided to opt for endodontic treatment instead of extraction is because I grew up in a family that believed extractions were an under class thing and to always opt for saving the tooth if possible, despite being more expensive

I do have to say that the crowns feel wonderful and smooth. I’m hoping they’ll last beyond the average 15 years

Didn’t gave root canal or anything, pretty sure it fixed a broken tooth or filling, had it for 10+ years
Have not had a cavity in 30+ years

I’m the opposite.

I had really good teeth until college, when I stopped caring as much and drank a lot more junk.

My soda drinking has cost me a shite ton over the years in fillings, etc

But this was the first year the cavities got into the roots. It’s my own fault because I kept on canceling my routine fillings.

You’re a better man than me lol

I’m lucky to go 2 straight checkups without a cavity

It’s frustrating too because I tell myself after every checkup/cleaning that I’m going to finally stop the Dr Pepper/coke and I always fail

I’ve got two. About to get a third. The one I’m about to get is because of a filling from my teenage years falling out. I was a dumbass and didn’t see a dentist from the ages of 16-27. I’m paying for it now in my mid 30s.

Plan a week long trip to Mexico and get them done for 1/4 of the cost.

What was your first dental checkup like after your 11 year gap?

Did you have a lot of decay?
