Screwed that up. Ment to say they had people on roofs with rifles. Don't know who they were. Iam a little under the weather right now.

have been called three times in BR. First time I was called I notified the Clerk of Court that I am personal friends with the DA, multiple Judges and several members of the Public Defender's Office
I knew the arresting detective. Went to highschool and the Marines together. I told the judge this. His response was to ask me if we were fishing buddies. I told him no and he said no problem.

Yes, once when I lived in Ascension Parish.
Armed Robbery case in Donaldsonville.
Defendant was found guilty, never feared for retribution.

I’ve been called for jury duty 4 times
I’ve served on 2 juries
One we convicted a homeless man that killed another homeless man for stealing his bike
The other one was a hung jury on a guy that attempted to solicit a minor.

Been on a civil and criminal jury.
When a mans life is at stake (prison) that guilty verdict isn't always easy to give. I don't want that again.
Civil, week long trial, we decided in 15 minutes and played cards til lunch to at least get that lovely sandwich.

1) Been called only once
2) Served on a 5 week murder trial of a three year old that was beaten to death by her step father.
3) No sense of retribution, we deliberated for three days…needlessly as he was clearly guilty.
I still have nightmares of the graphic autopsy photos of that little girl. Very sad.

My one time was a complete shitshow. It was basically a personal injury suit. I might as well have been the token light skin male. I, along with the token light skin female, were the only ones with functioning brain cells.

Called 4 times, one trial. Served as foreman. 2 and a half days, 2 witnesses for dwi. Went to deliberations. Had a show of hands for guilty. All but two. Wrote their questions down and gave to bailiff. Took it to judge and judge sent a note back saying you got all you need and get to work. Show of hands, all guilty

Called 6-8 times. Once when I’d drawn a Bighorn Sheep tag in Idaho. Got out of that.
Served on a murder trial and a battery and sex assault trial.

Done it twice and was foreMAN twice; 1 guilty and 1 not guilty

Been called twice. First time was around March in Louisiana, but I've lived in Texas for almost 3 years now, just never change my voter registration. So for that one just had to go online and say I was no longer a resident. Then in June I was called in Texas, thought for sure that was fate saying I was destined to serve, but ultimately wasn't chosen.

been called 5 times, never served, the DAs did not seem to want a Civics teacher on a jury, they would rather you not understand certain rights and legal precedence
also, best friends with a local judge, they don't want that, In a capital case you have to be willing to either give the death penalty or life in prison. I told them no, if found guilty of 1st degree I would vote for the death penalty- you are excused

1. Been called for jury duty; if so, how many times?

I got a notice for jury duty once but on the day I was to report apparently a deal was made and I didn't have to go

I was called for jury duty just the one when I turned 18.
It was interesting to see how the systems works. At times a little boring. I got placed on a medical malpractice case that had some interesting expert testimony and involved the Mayor’s brother in law.
Never served on a criminal trial. My Mom did on a case where a young girl was raped. They convicted. She said it was awful though.

Been called and served one time on a grand jury, spent 2 days going over multiple cases. Mostly drug charges and burglaries, then it was our turn to inspect the jail to make sure everything was good.

Nothing scares me more than being judged by normal regular Americans.
