re: How many MLB pitches could you at least foul tip (out of 100 pitches)?

I'm going to say in the first 5 pitches, probably 1. I will quit after I make the first contact because my hands and forearms will be in so much pain.

Seems most think they could get timing down if only fastballs. I'm half blind so it wouldn't matter for me. Plus Im a pussy and would be scared of the ball.

Lets say an MLB pitcher with his full arsenal of pitches.
considering that major leaguers that fail 7 out of 10 times batting against these guys are in the running for the HoF should say something, but if it is 100 consecutive pitches instead of situational at bat scenarios, it increases the amateurs' odds

you're right, I was thinking of hitting what would be considered as hits, however, you see a lot of major league pitchers that never batted in their lives before getting to the bigs having trouble making any contact when they have to bat

Am I right out of my cubical, or do I have 2-3 weeks to practice?

MLB pitcher firing his full arsenal of stuff at you. All are strikes or close to it but pitcher can hit the corners. How many can you get a piece of?
A handful.
I don't think I'd go 0-100.

It is actually hard to throw 95 without movement. Maybe impossible
Stallings begs to differ. A lot of the things you've said in this thread lead me to believe you couldn't hit more than 10. You sure are talking yourself up a lot and are pretty uninformed

Quick numbers: In HS, I was a .300 hitter. That was against no talent assholes, and prime metal bats. Taking into account a wood bat (a lot heavier) and elite pitching talent, and my age, I would guess in the 5-10 range.

Are we talking right now or in our prime?
I went 1 for 3 against Wade Miley in high school with a RBI (he was 2 years older). So, in my prime I could probably touch at least 50, putting 20-25 in play with only 10-15 being solid contact.
Right now, zero. I wouldn't even foul tip one.

I turned 40 last year and through some connections via my brother in law I got to take BP at the Braves spring training facility. I haven't seen live pitching since my JUCO days. I took about 20 cuts off of the bp pitcher then they asked if I wanted to try a few "live rounds" from one of their AA guys. After about 10 swings off of his bp fastball he went live. Nothing but fastballs from 92-96. It was a 35 pitch workout for him and I put 1 ball in play and fouled a few off. The one I put in play didn't go past the infield dirt.

if the bet is just to make contact, and you only have to swing at what would be called strikes, I don't think it would be as hard as many on here think, hell, just square around and do the old pitch and catch
ETA:but this is the more likely scenario:

Never mind.
Came here to say 5-10 if I could "drag bunt".
