Restrain? Like immobilize? For how long? Three very strong men could probably control one arm/leg. So at least 12.

Beating a gorilla into submission is another question all together

i always assume these hypotheticals are in a small enclosure type of an area. maybe double the size of an mma octagon.

It most likely isn’t possible and many would die a very brutal death trying

I'm not saying it would be a good idea but some meat head would take it. Gotta get someone to go in first

12.

2 to stand in front to distract the Gorilla with some bananas. The other ten sneak up from behind and jump on gorilla at once. Two on each arm; two around the neck, and two on each leg. Once the ten jump on, the other two jump on top as extra weight. Maybe one of them grab the Gorilla by the junk.

I disagree. If the goal is to restrain a gorilla like mentioned in OP, I could see a scenario.

Gorillas are naturally a shy and social animal. If a group of very strong/athletic men lure the animal into a false sense of security, it’s possible they could get close enough to all “pounce” at once. With 3 men to each limb, that should probably subdue him

Are you familiar with the phrase "go apeshit"? Cause that's how you get apeshit.

I wonder if it would be illegal to get like 200 people to sign waivers and attempt this? Could stream it on the internet death race style and pay the survivors some percentage of the profits. Maybe people can volunteer to go in first for a bonus.

I'm sure it'd be legal in Africa or something.

But you'd have to find 30+ people that are willing to be viciously mauled and killed.

Good luck.

LOL

You better get all 4 limbs at the exact same moment, because if you don't, he'll punch holes in their face with one hit or bite their fricking throats out.

A gorilla could throw all 3 grown men 20 feet away with one arm. It'd be like 3 toddlers trying to hold onto Brock Lesnar's arm.

You are comically underestimating this animal's strength.

OP said gorilla is in attack mode.

The first couple of people are going to die a brutal death without even hurting the gorilla. Then you have the rest fighting a 500lb animal that is maybe 5-10x stronger than a man and built like a truck with leverage on everyone. Oh and get a limb in his mouth and he would snap your bones like they were toothpicks

Well yeah, at the same time. Humans are not stupid. It would not be a random free for all. It would be a planned attack

If you clone Hafthor Bjornsson 15 times and pit them against a silverback, one of those clones will be used a club to beat the other 14 clones to death, and then he'll be torn apart. Even for as strong as Bjornsson is, a gorilla is about 10 times as strong and whole lot quicker. Not to mention, they can bite like a mother fricker at 1,300 PSI.

But humans are smarter so with 15 people, one can hurry up and grab him around his neck, distract him and then you have 14 others that can go at him, but I guess the question would be.. How are they trying to restrain him? Are we talking about holding him back to keep him from doing anything or are they trying to get him in position to be restrained.. Like putting something on him to keep him from moving?

If we are talking about people holding him back to the degree they have complete control of him for a long period of time then that is different because he would eventually out muscle them.. If we are talking about getting him in position to put something on him to restrain him then they just have to distract & get him in position to do what needs to be done.. I am just throwing a number out there, but it would be interesting to see.

Guys going for his arms would be fricked, then the guys laying on the ground holding onto his legs would be fricked worse, then the guys who didn't get fricked in the initial fricking, would get fricked.

3 men are not strong enough to hold a gorillas arm without some sort of rope or tool. Period.

He could probably curl all 3 dudes.
